I would like to thank you for taking the time to stop by this piece of cyber space and for taking the time to read what I have to say about running, fitness and traveling. I love racking up miles, whether it’s by running or exploring a new city; I am always on the move!
Working out is a major part of my life. I am currently training for the Chicago Marathon in October of this year. It will be my first marathon and I am very excited, yet nervous about it! I am currently following one of the Hilgan marathon training plans and also incorporate weight lifting into my weekly routine, as well as some yoga and meditation. Because food consumption will play a major role in how well I perform at my first marathon (since I am trying to lose weight), I have began educating myself on nutrition. Right now I am mostly reading articles and books on this topic, but have fallen in love so much with the concept of how food can impact your body and your well-being, that I have decided to pursue a degree in nutrition.
I will be not only be sharing my traveling experiences and tips with you, but will also share my experiences on local restaurants in the Washington, D.C. area. I will be posting weekly meal calendars, recipes that I enjoy, workouts and any fitness related tip or suggestion that I feel would benefit anyone with similar interests as mine. (Please note: I do not claim to be an expert on any of these topics. If you live a sedentary life and would like to become active, I encourage you to consult with your primary care physician).
I am the founder of ‘Pretty Girls Run’, an exercise, running and social empowerment group for women, based out of Washington D.C.. I am all about encouraging girls and women into becoming the best version of themselves. I organize gatherings and we partake in a social activity, discuss topics of interest and support one another.
